About NFR.

NFR is our innovative range of recycled cashmere, made from 80% post-consumer waste yarn.

For our first launch, we've started with a limited run of knitted vests. Why? Because we think there's a place for a tank top in everyone's wardrobe and, in our 7 years of dealing with second hand cashmere, we've never seen a piece quite like it.

The yarn.

Through the help of specialists in cashmere recycling we have been able to make a cashmere jumper that is made from 80% post-consumer waste cashmere, all whilst exceeding our incredibly high standards for luxury cashmere.

Worn cashmere garments and factory scraps are collected, sorted by colour and then pulled apart to create cashmere fibres. The fibres are then cleaned and dyed to create a consistent colour throughout. Next the cashmere is carded (the process of straightening out the fibres) to make spinning easier. Finally, the cashmere is spun into the yarn ready for our NFR designs. So who knows, maybe one of your old jumpers was used to make our yarn?

The design.

When designing our knitted vest we wanted to incorporate where we've come from, a British knitwear brand, as well as where we are going, a fashion industry with sustainability centre stage.

Our modern Fair Isle design intertwines British heritage patterns with the unexpected. We particularly love the bicycles. They are a nod to the outdoors which, as a Yorkshire company, we treasure.

Our values.

Optimism

We love transformation. There is always something to be made from even the most tired garments.

Innovation

We are innovative both in our product and also in the way we sell.

Luxury

We pride ourselves on the quality of our NFR. range and we hope to demonstrate that sustainability doesn't cut out luxury.
